So I figured I'd let you guys see one of the many things that's been keeping me busy lately. I've been working on a rather exciting job that I will tell you guys about at a later date mostly, but I've also been working on my BFA project. I guess I didn't ever tell you guys, but my BFA project includes 2 dolls (maybe three if I feel like it... but probably not because they take too much time. But if I do, it'll be one of the clouds) one of Mier, the main protagonist, and one of Hava, Mier's... eh... dog? (Hava is a creature called a Peraccu. It's sort of like a flying snake/whale/horse/shark/seal... thing.)

Anyways, this is where I'm currently at with these as of today. Neither doll is completely finished (obviously), though Hava's a lot closer to being done. Just a few things on the body and saddle to address really. Mier's doll still has a ways, but he's starting to shape up now, so I figured it was at a decent sharing point. :> I'm currently working on his hair, but that's not attached yet since I'll be finishing off the face sculpt and paint job before I do that. And I haven't made his poncho yet, but that's because I''m having issues with my green fabric. (sewing doll clothes is a butt) >3< But I finally got around to putting the base skin coat on the doll yesterday so that he wasn't white. XD The pics aren't too true to the actual skin color it's painted mind you (too orange and a bit too light in the pics), but I'm not worried about color capture until later. Also, the silver thing in his hand is the collapsed base for his staff. The doll will have a functioning extendable crook when I'm done. And yes, that is a teeny tiny minitaure telescoping antennae that I'm using. Also, the Mier doll has magnets in the feet so you can pose it, but it also magnetizes to the stirrups of Hava's saddle to help him stay on. Mier is fully jointed of course and stands at about 9 inches. Hava is fully poseable with a steel wire skeleton, has a functioning mouth (opens very wide like a snake. ^^) and is almost 2 feet from nose to tail. (That makes her really hard to photograph while trying to hold her in one hand. But eventually she'll be displayed on a stand so it won't matter. XD)

So yes... lots of projects currently eating my life. Mier's doll is especially time consuming as it's my first human doll. But it's all good!

These look AMAZING, Anna. Great job! I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product. I wish I could be here for your BFA show, but you'll still post pictures, right?

Oh, I don't use a sewing machine. I don't have one actually. XD I do all my sewing by hand.

I'm working with mohair at the moment. Though if it all goes horribly wrong, then I'll be doing a sculpt most likely. XD

lol, yeah, they're not really quick little things. XD And I don't have the tools to make casts like a lot of doll artists do. :<
