So, today I decided to work a bit on how I'm thinking of doing the pages for the Sky Herder comic. I'm still waiting for some things to get in place before I actually start putting the project up for public viewing, but I've been getting antsy waiting around, so I decided I wanted to do a test page or two to help me get a feel for how I want to do the pages. So I just took a little random moment from the story and did a page of it for fun really. I got a little rushed on the coloring since I was tired of working on it, but actual pages will be more polished (but I wouldn't be doing a whole page in less than a day when I actually get working, so it wouldn't be as bad).
I've been torn on whether or not I want to do the pages in color or grayscale for a while now. Color is nice, but of course it takes longer, and it would make printed copies of the book more expensive. But despite that, I'd really like to do it in full color, since I always feel like that's a nice touch in a graphic novel, and because I think it's more fun to look at. XD
So yes. I'm not a comic artist, but by golly I'm going to buckle down and do this thing as a graphic novel because I really want to tell this story, and this is the only avenue that I can do on my own. Besides writing it in book form of course, but this story is better told through visuals than written descriptions. And if anything, maybe by the end of it all, I'll actually enjoy doing comic pages. XD I mean it's not that I hate doing them, in fact sometimes it's really fun. But I have a hard time staying motivated long enough to do sets and sets of pages. And this will be, by far the largest project I'll have undertaken to date. So wish me luck! And if those stupid claims ever finish pending, than you can expect a lot more pages in the future! Except actually in order and with a discernible story. lol. XD
