So, I've been working on a lot of Maya homework lately which involves a lot of really geometric, rigid polygon structuring, and I've been dying to draw something more fluid. So I picked the most structureless, free flowing character in my file- Cyrus the gengar! Hooray! No Mouse unfortunately, but I like drawing Cyrus anyways because he's eeeeeasy. Cyrus doesn't really have a shape- he's just an amorphous, semi-solid floating entity whose body is in constant flux. He can will himself into more structured forms, or he can simplify himself down to just a floating ball if he wants. The only constant feature is his face. Which, it also occurred to me while I was drawing these that Cyrus' face can actually move around freely on his body. Like, he can be facing one way and move his face to the back of his head without actually turning his body. Or he could flip his face upside down on his head if he wanted (which I've actually drawn before. XD)
So for these I just did some sketches of the different kinds of shapes Cyrus can take. And I did the bottom left one to show about the closest he ever gets to looking like an "actual" gengar (like the in-game design). And then the top right three were just because I felt like drawing a cute Cyrus. :>

Yeah I actually don't like gengar either. XD There's a couple pokemon on this character's team that I don't like, but I picked them because they suited the character. And then I tried to redesign them so that I actually liked them and so that they would be fun to draw. XD
