So, I just got done reading Tekkon Kinkreet for the first time earlier today. And then I immediately proceeded to do a quick fanart. :> Really fabulous story. Strange and unique for sure, with a really interesting art style. I really like that whole japanese/french/graffiti hybrid style that it's got going on. And I love both the main characters, but I definitely gotta go with Black for my personal favorite.

I would talk more about it, but it's bed time here, so I hope you enjoy the pic anyways! ^^

I randomly came across this deviation on your gallery slideshow, yey for more TK art!

I gotta read the manga version of this. I think movie might have left out some few nice tibits about this series.
as for this~ I always love their crazy sense of style and I think you really captured both of their personalities here!

really loved this movie to bits! besides the jawdropping backgrounds of course, I was sort of expecting both of them some badass overpowered kids in the big city kind of thing,
but wow Black was getting beat up alot and shows so much internal struggle that it really made me appreciate them more as a character.

But my most favorite part about this movie was literally the whole balance between them. especially when Shiro said he had the "screws" that Kuro's heart needed and vice versa. and the movie showing what happens when they tip over that balance was just so interesting to see. Minotaur was really an awesome and unexpected character too, I love how was actually connected to Black.

Yeah, the manga is very interesting. It's a bit different from the film, but mostly in the sense of plot points getting moved around and happening at different times and such. They did leave out some things, but they did a very good job of not leaving out anything that was really essential to the story. Though there's a little more explanation about the Minotaur and his relationship to Black in the book, which is interesting. I think the saddest thing they left out for me was the whole set of finishing lines. You know that part where Black's peak-crazy and White asks "What do you see over there?" well in the book there's a whole set of really great lines that follow that, that they left out in the film. They do have Black's final response line of "From here, you can see everything"(or seomthing similar to that, can't remember exactly) but it's at the very end of the credits, so I think a lot of people would miss it. :<

But omigosh, the background art is amazing. I got both the art books just for that. (actually just got the black one a couple days ago since I finally came across a less pricey copy. XD) And I absolutely adore the film. And I'm not even entirely sure why. It's like, the first time I watched it, for the first little bit I was like "What on earth am I watching?" and then at some point something clicks and suddenly it's one of the greatest movies ever.

okay I think I REALLY need to read it! and yeah I think I vaguely remember some few lines in the credits,
you're right I might've noticed it more if it wasn't in the end  also I checked the art book in amazon as soon as I finished the movie
and wow it's crazy expensive haha lucky you!

I had the same reaction to the movie as well! from "meh okay" to wow this is so great why didn't I watch this sooner,
wasn't expecting everything would be so surreal at some point too. it's just so good!

Yeah, the books are pricey, but if you're patient and keep an eye out, then you might find them at a more decent price. You should be able to get the book pretty cheap though. I think I paid, 12 dollars for a book that had the entire thing in one collection?
